My tacos made with pulled beef |
My Simple Taco Recipe
Once you have your fresh ingredients for the tacos, here's the simple recipe I follow:
- 1 pound of 85% or higher ground beef, ground turkey, or cubed chicken breasts
- 10 6-inch flour tortillas
- 1 large, fresh onion
- 1 large, fresh green pepper
- 1 pack of taco seasoning
- 1 cup water or broth (chicken, beef or vegetarian)
- 1 fresh jalapeno pepper, sliced thin
How to Cook My Taco Recipe
First you'll need to chop up the pepper and onion into small chunks. Next, fry them up in a medium frying pan over medium-high heat. Try adding a bit of olive oil to make your veggies crispy (or butter works too).
Next, cook the meat filling in a different fry pan over medium heat until its almost done (or "browned"). Drain all the fat from the frying pan and then put the frying pan with the cooked taco topping back on the stove. In a small glass bowl, mix the water or broth and the packet of taco seasoning together until there are no clumps of seasoning left. Add to the frying pan with taco filling. Cook on medium-high until the water or broth boils off, then add the cooked veggie chunks to the mix. Remove from the stove and let stand for 5 minutes to make sure all the flavor gets soaked in by the veggies.
Now you can add the taco filling and cooked veggie filling mix on top of the flour tortillas. Cover with your favorite taco toppings and serve.
